Miss BeattieI was born and raised in La Canada, attending Palm Crest Elementary and La Canada High School. My experiences living and working in LC have given me a unique perspective when it comes to teaching at my almamater.
While in high school I played basketball and volleyball, and subsequently coached JV Girls, and Varsity Girls and Boys basketball over the last 10 years at LCHS. Currently I am one of the advisors for Young Life here on the LCHS campus. We meet almost every Tuesday in my classroom at lunch, for fun, food and friendship. Everyone should check it out! I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received my Bachelors Degree in Journalism, while taking as many history & political science courses as my schedule would allow! Upon graduation I worked in the entertainment industry (ICM & Paramount Pictures) for 3 years before going back to school to earn my teaching credential and Masters in education from Azusa Pacific University. My passion for history and the political process runs deep. Over the course of my life, I have had the privilege of meeting and working with President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and Hillary Clinton. My family continues to be active in various organizations in La Canada, with my Dad previously serving on the La Canada School Board, and the Public Safety Commission. While my mom served as the President of the Chamber of Commerce and PTA.
